SCHWAN’S Food Service Inc. "ROCK OUR WORLD - FIGHT AGAINST GLOBAL HUNGER" Original Music Contest

Join the fight against global hunger by entering the Schwans "Rock Our World" Music Contest. You and your band (up to 4 people, total) can create an all original song, perform it and upload the music video to SchoolTube. Visitors to SchoolTube.com will view and rate the music videos and the top 10 finalists will be judged by a panel chosen by Schwan’s Food Service, Inc. The Grand Prize winners, along with a parent, will be flown to Las Vegas in June of 2009 to perform their song at a Schawn’s corporate event. Second and 3rd place winners will each receive Best Buy gifts cards ($300 and $100 respectively). See the contest rules and regulations for all the requirements.

The Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) is searching for budding filmmakers and is looking to the career and technical education (CTE) community to find them!

Any secondary and postsecondary students in CTE-related film and video production classes may create a PSA to promote career and technical education based on the 2009 CTE Month theme, "CTE: Building Blocks for a Successful Career." First and second place winners will be awarded cash and a copy of Apple's Final Cut Studio Pro 2.*

Get Into Energy Careers in Energy Video Contest

The SkillsUSA/'Get Into Energy' Careers in Energy Video Contest is devoted to putting energy workers in a new perspective. This event gives SkillsUSA members in select occupational areas the opportunity to express themselves positively through the development of original and compelling videos about the jobs at electric, gas, and nuclear energy companies.

The winning school will receive a $300 award, up to two honorable mention awards of $100 each may also be distributed.

Courageous Persuaders is a unique and influential video scholarship contest that was created to make a difference in the tragic statistics related to underage drinking. Think Globally Report Locally Contest

The People Speak in partnership with the RTNDF and SchoolTube are announcing the Think Globally, Report Locally Contest.

Participating students choose one of the four global issues chosen for the contest, find a local angle to the story, and create a 1-2 minute broadcast news story.

Three winners will receive an all expenses paid trip to attend the United Nations Foundation Youth Leadership Summit held in July at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

SkillsUSA Peer Recruitment Video Contest

The SkillsUSA Peer Recruitment Video Contest is devoted to addressing how students can interest other teens in SkillsUSA through talent, creativity, and inspiration. Students currently enrolled in grades 9-12, who are registered members of SkillsUSA, can submit entries for consideration through the February 15, 2008 deadline. Videos can be created by one individual, by a team or a whole class. The winning school will receive a $500 award, and up to three honorable mention awards of $250 each may also be distributed.
