Broadcast Pacemaker and Story of the Year Contest

Enter your work by June 15 in the National Scholastic Press Association Broadcast Pacemaker and Story of the Year Contests for a chance to be nationally recognized. The contest is a co-sponsored by SchoolTube.com and Radio Television News Directors Foundation.

Broadcast Pacemaker Contest:

Since 1927, the Pacemaker has been the highest honor NSPA gives to its members. An entry consists of a student-produced news program or a segment of a longer news program, up to 20 minutes in length. (A longer entry may be submitted, but jdges will only view the first 20 minutes.) The majority of the planning, writing, scripting, taping and editing must be done by students.  The on-camera broadcasters and interviewers must be students. The entry must have been produced and broadcasted between Aug. 1 2008, and June 1, 2009.


Broadcast Story of the Year:

Any student on th staff of an NSPA member broadcast program is eligible to enter these contests. Broadcast Story of the Year entries must have been produced and broadcast between Aug. 1, 2008 and June 1, 2009. An entry consists of a student-produced news, feature or sports segment no more than 10 minutes in length. There is a limit of two entries per category for each member publication. Entries may be from the same student(s).

Requirements for both contests:
Must be a member of the NSPA.
