Cheryl: What Earthquake?

August 9  11:15pm

Hi everyone, we just got back for our last film shoot today.  What a day, what a week and it's not over yet.  I have not written in a few days because, well, I was dead tired  I was so tired that I slept through a 4.5 earthquake last night at 1am in the morning!  Normally, if my cat blinks, I wake up....but not this week.

Today I was a part of the Art and prop department.  I am so not creative, but I did learn how to sling the mud, cover someone with dead plants, make new wooden crates look really old and make an new deck of card look like they've been around since WWII.  I also helped with wardrobe, catering and anyone else that needed help in my spare time.  Big Game (the film) is really progressing.  It's really been interesting just how the film crew and ISM have been putting this short film together.

Did I mention we were on top of a mountain in Santa Clarita and it was a bright sunny day, with not a cloud in the sky.  It was so hot up there that we were wearing 60 SPF.  That's a first for me usually I'm looking for the cooking oil when I'm in the sun.

The last four days have been incredible.  Yes, it was much more work than I anticipated but if you want to learn how to produce you have to get your hands dirty....literally! Boy were they dirty.  Oh yeah, one rattlesnake did get hurt while making this picture.  Seriously, a rattlesnake!

Tomorrow is editing, a sound set, Universal City and a movie.  I'll let you know how the day turns out later.

More to come....
Cheryl
