Cheryl: Lights, Camera, Action

Oh my gosh! What a day we all had. Two vans fill with wide-eyed, happy go lucky teachers and students. The film is called Big Game. We shot just about the same 2 scenes all day for 12 hours. We were in the hull of an old battle ship the entire time. We broke for lunch for about 45 minutes then went back to work. But it was really cool. Lights, camera, action. What a spectacular experience. We were truly working with real professionals in the industry with huge credentials from large motion pictures. Unfortunately, this late at night I couldn't recall what they were, but it impressed the heck out of me.

I was apart of the video team. I learned all about using film. The expense, how to handle it (not that I handled it nor would I after finding out that after it's shot you go into a dark room, in the dark and reload the film. The saying goes if you see the film....it's been ruined.) But it was great.

I saw a track and dolly in use. I used the every popular clapboard for the first part of the shoot. I ran to get bricks (large batteries). It was fun.
It was amazing just to stand back and watch this whole process.
We wrapped the first day at 8:00pm. The wide-eyed teachers and student could hardly put their tired, worn-out bodies into the vans to come home. But we managed. Our crew call is at 7:30am on the set by 9:30am for another long day.....
By the way, they feed you all the time.
Stay tuned for more.....
