Cheryl: Welcome to Boot Camp

Cheryl
Sunday evening August 5th 8pm:

Can an old dog really learn new tricks?  I guess I'm going to find out. The first workshop meeting with ISM  was really informative.  It was great meeting the other people  who are involved in the ISM workshop. Some are teachers and some are students. A wide variety of experiences.

Personally I was really, really nervous about how I'm going to fit into all of this.  I teach broadcasting, short stories and documentaries.   As Jason and all the other ISM hosts were talking, I kept thinking I don't know the first thing about making a film, I was becoming more and more excited about the adventure I'm about to embark on with 20 other individuals on how to make a film.

group photoOur shuttle leaves at 6:30am for our first production day.    We're going to the hull of a ship in San Pedro.  Once we're there our group of about 20 will be divided into our different jobs for the day.  I've looked over the script again, check the "callsheet" (my first vocabulary term) to identify the parts of the script being used.  I just hope I don't drive everyone crazy the first day with questions!  Or worse, just stand there gawking at everything on the set.

More to come......stay tuned.....
