Professional and Educational Biography
Robin Gerzema has been working with students through her teachers since 2001. She has been the district technology coach since that time and has a general love of technology and its uses in the classroom. In 2004, after attending a NASA Technology Immersion workshop, she brought back to her district strategies to implement a handheld program that ultimately won state recognition by the South Carolina Association for Educational Technology. Robin continued to expand her teachers and students technology exposure and knowledge by bringing videoconferencing to their curriculum. Currently, her students are diving into the “movie mode”. Students are using Microsoft’s Photostory 3 to develop movies based on their writings from the English Language Arts classes and Social Studies classes.
Mrs. Gerzema is a former fifth grade math and science teacher that caught the “technology bug” while implementing the JASON Curriculum. She has been awarded several Technology Innovative Program awards from the South Carolina Association for Educational Technology.
